Duterte says ‘When I go to hell, I’d tell Satan that De Lima should be queen there’

With the kind of life he has lived, President Rodrigo Duterte admitted he is on the road to perdition as he said that if he goes to hell, he will tell Satan to make Leila De Lima the queen there. This was the Chief Executive’s pronouncement before the Filipino community at the Royal Thai Navy Headquarters in Thailand where he once again expressed his fury on the woman senator whom he has accused of being responsible for the proliferation of illegal drugs in the New Bilibid Prison. “Sigurado man, ‘pag sa edad, siyempre mauna ako, sigurado — wala naman akong ambisyon, impyerno talaga ako. Iyan ang totoo. Pero maghintay ako sa kanya, pagdating niya, sabihin ko talaga, ‘Senyor Satanas, dumating na ang reyna na hinihintay mo.’ Eh totoo man,” he was quoted as saying in an article written by Trisha Macas on GMA News Online.

[If it’s based on age maybe I will go first — I don’t have ambition for sure I will go to hell. That’s the truth. But I will wait for her. I will tell Satan, your queen has arrived. That’s true.] Currently, De Lima, who is a fierce critic of the President’s war on drugs, is in jail but continuously denies all accusations raised against her as she claimed that she has been the target of Duterte’s fancy stories. On the part of Duterte, he strongly said the charges against De Lima were not manufactured. “Kami pa ang kasalanan, si Vit Aguirre pa. Classmate ko iyan. Cum Laude iyan sa law school. Kami ba naman mag-imbento ng—I will never never never iyong ganoon lalo na kung babae mag-imbento ako ng istorya,” he said. [We are even accused of being at fault. Vit Aguirre is my classmate. He was a Cum Laude in law school. We are accused of inventing stories—I will never allow it to happen especially on women.] Duterte also had choice words for what he called De Lima’s thick face; citing that he has been searching for the woman who has the thickest face and it’s her. Aside from this, the President (in a sarcasm) said he urged prison guards to stay away from De Lima to avoid any issue.
