Female assassin in Kim Jong-nam’s murder allegedly once auditioned for “Vietnam Idol”

One of the female assassins who allegedly participated in the murder of Kim Jong-nam at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is believed to be an entertainment worker who once auditioned for the ‘Vietnam Idol’; a local version of the popular talent show ‘American Idol’. Doan Thi Huon, 28, is the woman wearing the ‘LOL” shirt captured by the airport security camera grabbing Kim by the neck as the other female sprayed the victim’s face with what is believed to be a toxic chemical. She was the first to be arrested among the eight suspects, followed by Siti Aishah, 25, an Indonesian; Aishah’s 26-year-old Malaysian boyfriend Muhammad Farid Bin Jalaluddin; and a North Korean man named Ri Jong Chol.

The rest remains at-large. In an article by Star Online, it said Doan Thi Huong worked at an entertainment outlet and goes by the alias “Ruby Ruby” on her social media account where she posted photos wearing different attires in provocative poses. This Facebook account was confirmed by her own family to belong to Doan, said Reuters. Her last update was last February 11 in Malaysia with her photo captioned: “I want to sleep more but by your side.” A video also surfaced on social media showing a woman who closely resembled Doan appearing on the “Vietnam Idol” for an audition last June 2016. This You Tube account was in the name of “Bella Tron Tron Bella” or Chubby Bella. A facial recognition reportedly matches that of Doan who is currently detained in Malaysia. According to Reuters, Doan’s family hailed from Nam Dinh, in the Red River Delta southeast of Hanoi, and her family are mostly rice farmers. Her father, who works as a security guard at a local market, said they had since spoken with Vietnamese authorities after his daughter’s arrest. However, he was not told that his daughter was a suspect in the assassination. The family also was not aware she went to Malaysia, They only knew she had been working in Hanoi.
