Police mulls filing murder case against employer of beheaded maid found in Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines – The employer of the beheaded 17-year-old maid Richelle Sagang whose body was found in Bulacan early this month could possibly face murder charges, this was according to the Southern Police District (SPD) Sagang’s headless body was found in Sta. Maria, Bulacan last January 12, while her severed head was discovered at a creek in Makati City two days later. On January 24, a farmer from Zamboanga del Norte named Noel Sagang came forward and reported to the Makati City police; claiming that the headless body found in Bulacan and the head found in Makati belonged to his daughter, Richelle. According to SPD Deputy Director for administration, Senior Supt.

Joel Orduña, a DNA test confirmed the victim’s identity as Richelle Sagang. Orduña, who also heads the Task Group ‘Sagang’, said they invited victim’s employer from Alabang Villlage in Muntinlupa City but did not appear. “So we might resort to the filing of the case, but it will still depend on what evidence we have,” Inquirer quoted the police official as saying. Earlier, SPD has revealed the identities of two ‘persons of interest’ in the case. They are Chrissa Mae Anial Chai alias Samantha, a fellow housemaid; and Niron Leon Marcos or alias Aaron, supposedly a friend of the employer, whose name has not yet been made public. The two were the last persons seen on CCTV with Sagang last January 12. They accompanied the victim to the village guardhouse where she was reported for alleged theft. Speaking to Inquirer, Noel Sagang said he went to the employer’s house to fetch his daughter’s stuff but was told through the guard house telephone that Richelle took all her things on the day she left. The employer further claimed that she dropped Richelle somewhere in Alabang and she also offered the victim’s father assistance.
