Trump calls Obama the “founder of ISIS”

Presidential candidate Donald Trump insists Obama is the “founder of ISIS”
He also suggested that his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton co-founded the militant group
Clinton hits back by saying Trump is unfit to be President

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made a bold accusation against US President Barack Obama when he insisted that Obama founded the Islamic State militant group ISIS. At a campaign rally in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the real estate tycoon-turned-presidential aspirant repeatedly suggested that there were strong ties between the current president and ISIS.

“In many respects, you know, they honor President Obama. He is the founder of ISIS,” Trump claimed.

Insisting further, he said: “He’s the founder of ISIS, okay? He’s the founder! He founded ISIS.”

Trump, on the same speech, also made the same accusation against his rival Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“And I would say, the co-founder would be crooked Hillary Clinton,” he said.

In an interview with CNBC on Thursday, August 11, Trump stood by his strong statement, which echoed claims made by many of Obama’s critics.

“I’m a truth teller. All I do is tell the truth. And if at the end of 90 days, I’ve fallen short because I’m somewhat politically correct even though I’m supposed to be the smart one and even though I’m supposed to have a lot of good ideas, it’s OK. I go back to a very good way of life,” he said.

In response to the earlier remarks made, Clinton hit his rival through a Twitter post saying that Trump is unfit to be president.

“It can be difficult to muster outrage as frequently as Donald Trump should cause it, but his smear against President Obama requires it,” Clinton tweeted. “No, Barack Obama is not the founder of ISIS. Anyone willing to sink so low, so often should never be allowed to serve as our Commander-in-Chief.”
