Ginebra trade Joseph Yeo to acquires Sol Mercado from Barako Bull

The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will have a retooled backcourt in the Governors' Cup after acquiring Sol Mercado from Barako Bull in exchange for Joseph Yeo. It’s the latest in a series of moves for the Kings, who acquired Dave Marcelo from the Energy last month days after installing Frankie Lim as their new head coach. They also traded Dylan Ababou and James Forrester for Barako Bull’s first round pick in next year’s draft in a separate deal.

The PBA announced the trade on Monday. Mercado began the season with San Miguel Beer, which dealt him to GlobalPort in the Philippine Cup. It wasn't a long stay with the Batang Pier, where Mercado played just one game before being traded anew to Barako Bull. He joins Ginebra's crowded backcourt that also features LA Tenorio, Mark Caguioa, Jayjay Helterbrand, and Emman Monfort.
