The Buzz talk show Last Episode After 16 years

During the last segment of the show, host Boy Abunda, together with co-hosts Kris Aquino and Toni Gonzaga, announced that Sunday’s episode would be the show’s last. “The Buzz” will temporarily be going off the air to adapt to changes, according to Abunda. The Buzz, stylized as The Buzz 15 and formerly known as Buzz Ng Bayan, is a weekly entertainment news and talk show in the Philippines. The hurting Boy Abunda told televiewers that there will be no more The Buzz starting April 12.

“Oo, this is our last show. Mula April 12, wala na pong The Buzz. Hindi ako magkukunwari na I’m not hurting. It’s very painful. Naging ka-relasyon namin kayo for 16 years. We’ve been together for a long time. It’s hard and difficult,” he said.



(Yes, this is our last show. Starting April 12, there will be no more The Buzz. I won’t pretend that I’m not hurting. It’s very painful since you’ve become our partners for 16 years.)

“The world has changed. We need to take a few steps backward to check where we are right now,” Boy said.

“People who are part of the show has evolved, the way of reporting has evolved, and even the audience has evolved so the program should also evolve. It is best to stop today and thencome back strong and be the best of what we can be,” he added. Boy Abunda vowed that they will be back because showbiz news is here to stay and that talk show genre won’t die. He then thanked the show’s followers for theirundying support.



“Thank you very much Philippines and the whole world for making The Buzz happen,” Abunda told the show’s supporters.

After The Buzz aired its final episode, ABS-CBN released its official statement. It read:

“After more than 15 years of unparalleled credibility as Philippine television’s leading showbiz-oriented talk show, ‘The Buzz’ takes a break after its April 5,2015 episode. The program recognizes the evolution in showbiz news reporting, and to cope with it, ‘The Buzz’ deems it a necessary step to reinvent to start anew. Showbiz news will never die. The showbiz talk genre remains.

“Since the program began, ‘The Buzz’ has gained the authority of being the premiere source of truthful and balanced entertainment news for the Filipino audience worldwide. As the program bids farewell for now, ‘The Buzz’ would like to thank its loyal viewers for the support they have given the show in its entire run. See you again soon.
